St. Paul Music Ministry

April 27th marked the end of our choir year, as children's choirs, Sanctuary Bellchoir, and Sanctuary Choir has discontinued rehearsals. Rehearsals will resume in September.
In May we changed to the Summer Singers format. Simple hymn-anthems every Sunday, easy for amateurs and people of any ability, age, or vocal type. May through August, rehearsals will only be at 10:15 Sunday mornings, and we accept any and all newcomers, of any age or vocal type. It's an opportunity for us to do some outreach, and expand. Please invite a friend, neighbor, relative, etc.

Sanctuary Choir (click here for detailed information)
(Adult, High School and College Age Students)
Rehearsal: Wednesdays, 7:00 pm
This choir serves as the main choir for the 10:55 Sunday Worship Service and other Special Services. The St. Paul Choir has enjoyed a long tradition of excellence in choral music. Music sung by this choir reflects a wide variety of styles and periods. Each Christmas, as well as other times during the year, major choral works are presented with instrumentalists, often from the North Carolina Symphony.
Children's Choirs
began Tuesday, Jan.29 from 3:30-4:10. first meeting is casual get-acquainted-sing-along, snacks and juice will be provided. 1st-5th graders will form one choir until there are enough to split into younger and older groups.
Pre-readers (preschool) choir will start 2 weeks later- Feb.12, 4:15-4:45 with Valentine's party and songs about love.
Kindergarteners are welcome in either group, but due to the vast difference in reading skills and attention span from grades K-5, they may feel more successful in the pre-reading group.
The focus of the children's choir this term is participation, so kids are welcome to bring a friend. Parents are encouraged to stay, help, observe, and/or sing. Even if you don't sing, parents are very much needed to pass out games, music, instruments and other bits of organization. The newly-cleaned/renovated Children's Choir room is located in the administration building, upstairs and over the adult choir room.
